Finding Your Focus: Why the Outskirts of Birmingham Have the Best Seat in the City Centre

If your business is based on the outskirts of Birmingham—whether you’re out in Solihull, nestled in Bromsgrove, operating from the Black Country, or over in Sutton Coldfield—you likely love the perks of your location. You get the breathing room, easier local commutes, and a bit of separation from the city-centre rush.

But when it comes to gathering the whole team, hosting clients, or running a major training event, finding a central spot that everyone can reach without a headache is a different story.

You might look at city-centre venues and think: “Is the hassle of travel, parking, and finding the place really worth it?”

At The Priory Rooms, we’ve designed our entire delegate experience to answer that with a resounding yes. Here is how we make travelling into the heart of Birmingham seamless, stress-free, and incredibly accessible for businesses based outside the city.

1. Step Off the Train, Walk Through Our Gates

If your team or clients are coming from different corners of the West Midlands, the train is often the easiest way to travel. The beauty of our location on Bull Street is that we are uniquely positioned within a short walk of all three major mainline rail stations:

  • From Snow Hill Station: Just a 2-minute stroll. Walk out, cross the road, and you’re practically at our driveway.

  • From Birmingham New Street: About a 7-minute walk. You can walk straight up Corporation Street or jump on the West Midlands Metro tram right outside the station—it stops directly opposite our entrance on Bull Street.

  • From Moor Street Station: An easy 7-minute walk up Carrs Lane.

No confusing bus transfers, no expensive taxi rides. Your delegates can travel from the outskirts straight into the city, step off the platform, and be sitting in a calm, focused meeting space less than ten minutes later.

2. Driving In? We’ve Sorted the Parking Problem

We know that for some teams, driving is a necessity—especially if you’re bringing presentation materials or coming from areas with fewer rail links.

City-centre parking can be notoriously expensive and stressful to find, which is why we’ve partnered with the nearby B4 Car Park on Weaman Street (just a 4-minute walk from our doors). When you hold an event with us, your delegates can log their registration on our reception validation tablet to secure an exclusive, heavily discounted fixed rate:

  • Up to 10 hours: Only £15

  • Up to 24 hours: Only £22.50

We also have electric vehicle charging points nearby and keep a limited number of on-site spaces reserved specifically for event organisers dropping off heavy equipment and for disabled guests (just make sure to pre-book these with our team!).

Note: The Priory Rooms sits within Birmingham’s Clean Air Zone, so we always recommend checking your vehicle’s compliance online before setting off.

3. A Stress-Free Environment the Moment You Arrive

Accessibility isn’t just about the commute; it’s about what happens when you get here. Navigating a massive, multi-story glass corporate tower can feel intimidating and confusing for guests.

The Priory Rooms offers something entirely different. Hidden behind our double gates is a peaceful, historic Quaker meeting house structure blended with modern extensions. It feels like an oasis of calm right in the middle of town.

Our spaces are designed to welcome everyone:

  • Step-Free & Level Access: Our entire ground floor is completely level-access, with a dedicated accessible WC.

  • Lift Access: A lift smoothly connects guests to our lower-ground meeting spaces.

  • Comfort Built-In: All nine of our versatile rooms feature independent air conditioning and complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi, meaning your team stays comfortable and connected from the first minute to the last.

Let’s Plan Your Next Event

Getting your team together shouldn’t feel like a logistical mountain to climb. By choosing a venue that bridges the gap between regional transport links and city-centre convenience, you get the best of both worlds.
