The building is powered by 100% renewable electricity and features a Building Management System to optimise heating and cooling, significantly reducing energy consumption. Our longstanding dedication to sustainability is highlighted by The Priory Rooms being amongst the first locations in Birmingham with electric car charging points.
Our daily operations are also managed carefully to minimise our impact, upholding the principle of wise resource use. Surplus food is donated to the homeless charity Lets Feed Brum, with any remaining food waste being sent to be converted to green energy. Meanwhile, rainwater is collected and stored for use in flushing toilets and watering the garden, helping to reduce the amount of water used. Through these deliberate choices, guided by our Quaker heritage, we provide a modern conference setting that actively contributes to environmental wellbeing and a more sustainable future.

We work closely with our main suppliers with an aim to source and increase the availability of local produce in order to reduce the negative impacts on the environment.
We have various initiatives in place to achieve this including recycling schemes, waste reduction measures and the serving of Fairtrade snacks and refreshments
